We often forget that sometimes we need a break and time to relax, especially in a university environment where deadlines and expectations impact the way we live on a day to day basis. This brief called for the creation of media for annual Mental Health Week activities for Swinburne University. The brand and message for this campaign is to essentially ‘recharge’ yourself - be it physically or mentally. It takes a logical approach with emotive undertones, and builds awareness of the issue to break the stigma, as well as promote help and resources available at the university.
The final poster series was created with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, using vector and photo medias.
The feature graphics for the campaign revolve around the concept of depletion - whether it be a battery, your physical self or your mental self. Feeling drained is a too familiar symptom of many mental illnesses so graphics are depicted as actual batteries - a drink with a straw, a person and a brain. The target audiences in particular can easily associate these graphics with themselves, and are easily applied across all campaign touch points.
