This design solution involved the development, refinement and mock-up of a re-designed special edition 12” sleeve for Jamiroquai's first album "Emergency On Planet Earth", in the genre of Acid Jazz, as well as accompanying circular record labels.
The outer imagery depicts an earth-like form in a fragmented, disconnected array as if it has been broken into tiny pieces, gradually dissipating as it reaches the end of the back of the cover.
Select song lyrics in Jamiroquai's early discography spoke of self-consciousness and current world issues, specifically politics and the environment; the latter of which was a strong focus. The broken photographs specially show a heavily exaggerated aftermath for Earth, caused by significant industrial modernisation and what could be in store for it if nothing changes.
